IRVING, Texas – Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff (CFP), today announced that Tim Frick will join the CFP staff as controller. “With Tim, we are adding another high-integrity person to our group here at the CFP,” said Hancock. “He has lots of terrific experience and excellent acumen and will play a key role with our business operations. We are delighted to have him.”
Frick comes to the CFP from Baker Hughes, a publicly traded oil services company. He served in both internal audit and corporate finance roles during his time with the organization.
In his new role, Frick will oversee the accounting functions for the College Football Playoff, focusing on the business operations of the CFP.
“I am excited to return to the collegiate space and start a new role with the College Football Playoff,” Frick said. “CFP is a highly respected organization that prides itself on excellence and a commitment to college athletics.”
Frick is a certified public accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant and has experience in public accounting as well as corporate finance. He spent four years as the business and ticket manager of the Big 12 Conference, two years with the public accounting firm Grant Thornton and the past four years with Baker Hughes.
A native of Oklahoma, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Frick will begin his role with the Playoff in mid-November.
