College Football Playoff National Championship Bid Process Underway

IRVING, Texas – Nine communities have submitted bids to host the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020, CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock announced today.  The three host communities will be selected this fall.

The 2016 game will be in Glendale, Arizona, followed by Tampa, Florida, in 2017.

“We are pleased that the leaders in these communities recognize the significance of the event, and we are excited about what we know will be a competitive bidding process,” Hancock said.  “In its first year, the national championship game brought tremendous opportunity to North Texas as the epicenter of college football, and we know that success will continue in the future.”

The games will be played Monday nights.  The dates will be January 8, 2018; January 7, 2019; and January 13, 2020.  A breakdown of the bids from prospective host communities follows:
