The Northwestern Wildcats debuted New Ryan Field in a dominating victory over Penn State 34-13. Their first Big Ten win in 2026.
Ryan Field, which took over two years to build, has many features including an NFL-type canopy over the field which is designed to block out wind and increase crowd noise toward the field.
It also includes the 'Wildcat Wall', which is a standing-room only student section with no bleachers or chairbacks for fans to sit. This is followed by many soccer-like stadiums that use this feature in their supporters' sections. The Los Angeles Clippers also installed this in their new arena, the Intuit Dome.
The Wildcats are back at New Ryan Field on Saturday against Ball State.
