12-Team CFP Era
Starting with the 2024-25 season, the CFP expanded to a 12-team field with four first-round games hosted on campus, followed by the CFP Quarterfinals and Semifinals at CFP bowls and ultimately the CFP National Championship.
Four-Team CFP Era
From 2014-15 through 2023-24, the CFP featured a four-team field, with two CFP Semifinal games setting the matchup for the national championship game.
