Thank you for your interest in the College Football Playoff Internship Program. The deadline to apply for the 2026-27 class of CFP interns has passed. Future internship opportunities will be available in the coming months. Please check back for detailed information on application requirements and how to apply.
Each year, a small group of post-graduate interns joins the CFP staff to help administer the Playoff and national championship game. There have been 12 CFP internship classes and counting since the program's first cohort in 2014-15.

The College Football Playoff paused its internship program for the 2020-21 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Honoring tradition, the College Football Playoff continues to administer the Tom Mickle Internship. The 2026-27 season is the 20th year* for the program, which provides an opportunity for a young person to become involved in administering the national championship game. It honors the memory of Mr. Mickle, who made many contributions to college football in general and to the development of the BCS in particular.
At the time of his passing, Mickle was the executive director of Florida Citrus Sports, host of the Capital One Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl. Prior to his appointment at Florida Citrus Sports in 2002, he was an associate commissioner at the Atlantic Coast Conference and also had been an assistant athletics director at Duke University.
